LITIGATION LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL

Jellum Law, P.A., a firm specializing in banking and financial services, serving clients locally, regionally, and nationally, seeks a highly motivated legal assistant or paralegal to be a key member of our litigation team, working in financial industry and real estate litigation.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with financial institutions in enforcement of loan documents, foreclosure, collections, landlord/tenant and construction matters and all aspects of civil and commercial litigation in state and federal courts and/or bankruptcy courts. Candidates without such experience, but with strong academic backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess strong communication and writing skills, be inquisitive, work efficiently and independently, and will be highly organized.

This position is full-time, but consideration will be given to a reduced part-time schedule. LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL

Jellum Law P.A., a banking and financial services law firm seeks a highly motivated legal assistant or paralegal to be a key member of our transaction team, working with SBA, and USDA lending transactions. The candidate will work closely with loan and credit departments, and attorneys. Qualified candidates will have prior experience working with financial institutions in preparation of loan documentation, and/or review of due diligence including title, entity documents and UCC and other lien services.

The ideal candidate will be efficient, highly organized and possess strong verbal communication and writing skills. Any experience with SBA loan documentation is a plus. Paralegal degree is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities include creating and completing SBA loan packages, including:

  1. Creating and maintaining loan files;
  2. Creating initial Loan Closing Checklists;
  3. Collecting appropriate due diligence documents;
  4. Preparation of loan documents;
  5. Conduct due diligence searches;
  6. Coordinate mortgage recording and filing of UCC Financing Statements;
  7. Maintain working knowledge of all internal procedures and processes;
  8. Clerical duties including preparing letters, scanning and mailing packages; and
  9. Post-Closing file management.
